Trouble Lyrics

Trouble
Been doggin' my soul since the day I was born
Worry
Just will not seem to leave my mind alone
Well I've been saved by a woman
I've been saved by a woman
I've been saved by a woman
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now

Trouble
Feels like every time I get back on my feet
She come around and knock me down again
Worry
Sometimes I swear it feels like this worry is my only friend
Well I've been saved by a woman
I've been saved by a woman
I've been saved by a woman
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now
She won't let me go
She won't let me go now

She good to me now
She gave me love and affection
She good to me now
She gave me love and affection
I said I love her
She's good to me
She's good to me

i think this song explains itsdelf in the first few lines.

Trouble Been doggin' my soul since the day I was born Worry Just will not seem to leave my mind alone Well I've been saved by a woman

hes saying that all his life hes been troubled, and then this woman has come along and made everything good :)

I think this song is about a dog who can't find a good, safe place to hide his bone, and so he keeps worrying about where to keep his bone, even going as far as putting it in a safe deposit box until finally he gets Traveler's Insurance and then he doesn't worry about where to keep his bone anymore. The "woman" in the lyrics is a metaphor, naturally, for Traveler's Insurance.

Song Meaning

You know I think that this song like all others is going to mean different things to different people. If you are a tranny, then I guess the woman might be your inner woman. If your Mom is always saving your butt, I guess that would work too. For me, it is what it is. My wife came into my life as a sudden friend when things were at their worst. My Dad had just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, I had dropped out of college to run the family business, my world was crashing down around me and there she came just as I thought I would drown in my trouble and worry. She stood with me, supported me, held me as I raged and laughed with me when I could. She saved me. The good in me that survived those 3 years of hell came through because she kept it alive. I am not a crying man, but if I were this song would bring me to tears each time I heard it. It terrifies me to think of where my life would be if were it not for her love and the grace of God that brought her to me.

He's been saved by a woman.

nice interpretation stoolhardy. But like stoolhardy says, this song's meaning is quite literal. He got into trouble and was a mess before he met the woman that changed his life. Ray Lamontagne is an incredible artist, i recommend that you check out Hold You IN My Arms, another song by him, that is also amzing if not better than this.

i actually have two interpretation so this song the first is that its about drug addiction and his female friend helped him through that and stuck by him when no1 else woild and worried about him "swear it feels like this worry is my only friend" i think where he uses the word worry there he means her.I think hes always had an addictive personality where he says"Been doggin' my soul since the day I was born"and that after he beat his addiction with her help he realised hes in love with her and his new addiction has become her."Feels like every time I get back on my feet She come around and knock me down again"

2.)my second interpretation is that hes referring to the character being a transvestite."Trouble Been doggin' my soul since the day I was born"i think hes always known he was different and its come to the stage where he just has to be himself and in a snese save himself from himself. The woman hes referring to could be himself as he wants to be as hes thinks being a woman would "save" him.with lines such as "Feels like every time I get back on my feet She come around and knock me down again" i feel when hes being a woman his exterior gets him into trouble just as hes ajusting to it in a way the woman could also be his mother who knows hes a transvestite and wants to protect him"She won't let me go" in way the woman he keeps referring to could be an immersion of himself and his mother.

I dont think so, sheisthenewthing. That has to be some sort of joke.

I take all of these lyrics literally, and its good that way.

two things in trouble and worry that most men go through. and its most simple solution is a woman. a woman can have such an impact on a man to where he feels saved... i know i have.
