This is one of DF's more "epic" songs (they can really hit those high notes) along with one of IMO they're best solos from 3:55 to 5:11. Hell, epic doesn't even describe this song.

I love this song, it seems to me like the climax of an epic story or end of an era of civilization or something. The only thing that bugs me is that every single site I've been to save for one has the wrong lyrics for the chorus part.
