i think this song isn't just about sex (altho it is a bit...) i like to think its about a boy & a girl who are so strongly attracted that they want to be with each other all the time, & therefore spend all night talking. (ok, they might also have sex...but hey!) personally i would love a guy who i could just talk to all night who is as interested in me as i am in him... dream on, hey?

i can understand the points that have been made here. The song however, is definately about times when johhny was in a flat, in a room next door to people taking drugs and how he was kept awake by the noises of the other users. The lines that say "that sweet and sacred feeling, it never lasts long, every time you turn around you see one more part of you yes it's gone" is about taking the drugs himself and realising the damage he is doing to himself. I could explain the whole song from start to end but it would take a while but im sure now you know what it's about you can decipher the rest.

yeah its definatley about drugs and staying up all night on them (speed/coke?) I think him and his girlfriends doing them - come on guys, its pretty obvious in the lyrics its about drugs!

i think this song is about feeling so comfortable with someone and being at the start of a really good relationship, but feeling that because you're embarking on a new time in your life with someone new, you're losing your past to them... but because you care about them so much your willing to move on with them and leave the past behind... even though it scares you. "i'll meet you in the morning when i've broken up the band" is a classic line. i love it, it's emmense!

'this town is full of counterfeit dreamers and maybe I'm one too'. But if all Johnny Borrell wanted to do is what he has achieved then maybe all the rest of us conterfeit dreamers will follow his footsteps.

this song is great. I agree about tha whole being about being comfortable thing... but i thought that the lines "That sweet and sacred feeling you know Will never last long .Every time you turn around you'll see One more part of you, yes it's gone" is all about how some relationships are good at the beginning, and then when they end, its like you lose a piece of urself. Kinda depressingin a way

I forgot how much I liked this song, I bought the album over a year ago and kind of forgot about it. Got it out yesterday - its just gr8!! Such good lyrics and a geat song.
