What I felt from this song is: Though you felt like "you're down on your luck" and "you feel like there's no way out now", Though you felt like you can't live anymore, you can't take anymore pain, and You can't stand anymore, What you are feeling now is what you are feeling now. Don't see your future through only what you are feeling now. There is a hope. There is a way. There is a future that YOU will make! This song really helped me.

i think the song's about never losing hope. we have to go on, there'll be something to help us through the hard times in life.

This song is about feeling helpless. No matter what you do to come out of this rut but it always pulls you back to the same place. Its like something or someone more powerful than you, who is pushing you down and not letting you get up. You have been fighting this monster all of your life and now you are so close to giving up.

In other words, you have been betrayed by others in the name of love all the time. Each time you thought it was true love but proven wrong later. That should have stopped you from ever loving again but you never could. You are tired of loving and being betrayed over and over.

But you have still not stopped believing in love. Despite this endeavor being so painful and so fruitless (so far), you have not given up yet. Your hope is still alive and you'd carry on and on and on... until one day, when it will be all over and that angel of love will take you away along.

has anyone heard the live version of this its heaps different nd at the beginning he says "in this contry you need a license to drive and hunt and fish but you need nothing to bring a child into this world" and the other song has a theme of amum drinking and the kids crying waiting for their dad or sumthing like that

i have no idea why they changed it but im pretty sre they only mde the changes when they recorded it

I heard them perform this song like a year or so befor it was recorded and it was one of my favortie live music experiences ever because i had never heard the song and was instantly in love with it.

this is the only band that gives me the chills listening to them ANYSONG at ANY TIME! its like mike ness's voice and the guitar and bass and drums are suposed to be like that... like it was SUPOSED to happen, which i think is why people love Social D so much, i can say i havn't felt this way about a band in so very long... his voice is fuckin amazing. when i listen to this i get the immage of a young Mike in the recording studio or what ever thinking that some day something big is gonna happen to him and no matter what anyone says does or feels its going to happen cause it was ment to happen

When i listen to this song, i always invision some kid flashing to an adult, kneeling at the edge of his bed, praying.

mike ness is so amazing. and I have the live version, which I kind of like the lyrics of a little bit better. They're kind of incoherable at some parts, but I know the first verse is "Welfare mother, drink yourself to sleep While silently your children weep When you coming home dad? I don't know when The county's gonna take us away again I don't care about what they say I ain't gonna die that way Welfare mother drink yourself to sleep While silently your children weep"

BOTH versions are freakishly excellent =]
