Whistles The Wind Lyrics
this song is incredible, how in the world is it not more popular?
another correction, if you listen to the complete control sessions, it is not "Some head for glory, others refresh" it is "Some head for glory, others, we crash"
@khayman1987 Thank you, I knew I wasn't crazy.

"The beauty in life, where's it gone?"
Flogging Molly are NOT anti-religious, this is a horribly offensive and huge mistake to make. Give your ears a cleaning buddy!
A couple small corrections and a huge one. The first one's the biggie, at no point in this song does Dave say, "Where's your God?".
Well it breaks my heart to see you this way The beauty in life, where's it gone? And somebody told me, you were doing okay Somehow I guess they were wrong
My isolation, now there's a sobering thought A minute alone, a lifetime too long See the face in this mirror, so pale it could crack Desperately wanting a color it lacks
Now there's an ocean between Where I am and where I want to be So you prayers in doubt, doubt not for me
Great song. I love the chorus.
such a heart-wrencher. very awesome song.
Probably half joking, at a live show in Chicago, Dave said this song is about "redheads". Every true irishman's weakspot. However, I think it can be reasonablly concluded that this song is about running into a past love intrest and the mixed emotions that ensue.
I think it's mostly about his mum and Ireland in he line "Theres an ocean between where I am and where I want to be" but I agree it's is partially about old love.

Dave King said it was about being a loser at a live show in Vegas.
And seriously, wtf at "Where is your god?"
The lyrics are in the CD insert.
When I saw these guys, Dave King said something along the lines of "This song is to all you beautiful people out there". I dunno if that's relevant but...
Haha, that's funny, when I saw them, Dave said, "This is a beautiful song about being ugly."
