Sympathy For The Martyr Lyrics
You just can't relax
and you can't rely on
anyone for anything
So you make your complaints
and oh everyone's let you down
You just can't
ever win
Convinced there's a war and it's always
everybody versus you
Convinced that you're critics are watchin'
and you've always got something,
you've always got something to prove
So tie the noose
and raise the cross
The martyr's arrived
A desperate plea
for sympathy
It's all you need
A laundry list of problems doesn't make you interesting
and never getting help doesn't make you brave
Not listening to reason doesn't mean that you have faith
You're just cutting off your nose to spite your face
So tie the noose
and raise the cross
The martyr's arrived
A desperate plea for sympathy
It's all you need
And you want it all
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
You want it, you want it all
And you want it all
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
You want it, you want it all
You want it all
You want it, you want it all
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da
You want it, you want it all
Ba-ba-de-da-de-da-da

You want it, you want it all

well it's obviously about adam...take it from there
taking back sunday is f~cking amazing and its a shame that john and shaun left...but its ok because straylight run rocks and taking back sunday is still number one....always will be long live adam lazarra
soco armetto lime by brand new is related to slowdance on the inside by taking back sunday. and this song is related to slowdance on the inside
just lookat the lyrics "coninced theres a war.." also thres chanting at the end of all those songs
i don't see why people have to try and make connections with the two bands. seriously. this song probally has nothing to do with taking back sunday but you people will find two words that are the same and say it does. ... and avert disaster wow. thats all i have to say to you. do you know anything??
other from that. straylight run is awesome. GET THEIR CD OCT 12th(tomorrow)!!!!
Avert Disaster... don't mean to ruin your fun but.... Soco by Brand New is a few years older than slowdance... just for your records... so its gonna be hard for that song to be related...
soco is written about a slowdance, so he's right ?
seventy times seven vs. there's no i in team. look at the connection there, kids. those are about each other.
anyways, i think this is about somebody who is possibly trying to hard to not fit in (which is obviously the cool thing to do, now.)
" A laundry list of problems doesn't make you interesting and never getting help doesn't make you brave Not listening to reason doesn't mean that you have faith You're just cutting off your nose to spite your face "
i think he's saying that stating the obvious dosent mean that it's right. you could interpret this in alot of ways. like people saying that all of their songs is about tbs even if you can see connection dosent mean that it's actually the meanings of the songs.
This is my favorite song on the CD. It's way catchy and it describes perfectly some overly dramatic people in my life.
I don't know. I kinda like making connections between the bands. It's adds a new element of listening pleasure. Nonetheless, it's silly to analyze it based on lyrics that are fairly generalized.
I absolutely love Michelle's vocals in this song as she fades out in the end. I just listened to it 20 minutes ago and already I am hooked. This band is amazing. Michelle is even moreso.
