Not Listening

I think this song is going society once again. He is saying that people have set standards for what is sucessful (nice car, lots of money, fancy gagets). And the singer is giving a big fuck you to that system.

I must say, this album rocks!

A very straightforward song, perhaps the singer is coming right out from under someone else. I can totally relate as my co-worker for 4 years was a nazi control freak who wanted me to be nothing more then a pet under him.

Well now

2 stanzas that stand out to me:

Totally, when you have nothing to lose you can stand against anything. And you get your way. In reality I think it's just the fact that you can stand on your own two legs and that no matter what nobody can take away the core person that you are. That's what it's like to have nothing to lose.

So many people try to save face. Try to look good. Try to build a reputation. Well, raise above all that mess and just do your thing!

It's like you're this sponge that's eager to learn but so many people have fed you crap that you find yourself just not even taking in anything. Within a good caring person, so many people want to steer them, control them, guide them, choke them up with knowledge. Remember to just allow a person to guide you and that's it. Only you can find out who you are.

chino69 .... i really don't think i agree with you. From the look of it he getting over a really bad break up and he not listening to the bullshit the person is telling him. And he got the idea that he doesn't have to listen to them that there more to life then what it was.

This is saying that he isn't naive or anything and isn't afraid to do what he likes. He isn't afraid of what it will cost or the consequences.

This is saying that he is living life without relying on someone else and can do what he needs to do without fear.

I won't get in line Or be your middle man So, fuck you, I make my own plans

This means he won't take orders from anyone else and makes his own plans for life.

And I got respect And I don't neglect The people that I really care to protect

This means he has respect from those that he is trying to help and he won't forget about them.

Analysation?

I write using proper English spelling. Analyse is spelt with an S so Analysation is spelt like that.

Basically, I think this song is about just not giving a fuck what anyone tells you to think or believe because you have to figure it out for yourself. There's also a very strong feeling of resentment here, perhaps related to a relationship, a friend, or an employer who fucked you over. The overall message is that no matter what anyone says it doesn't matter because it's up to you as an individual as to what to think, even if what you think may be considered incorrect or improper.

My point (over a year ago now) was that it was Analysis. Not analyzation. Or analysation. But it is unimportant.
