Your Wish Is My Wish Lyrics
In my mindstorm I did carry you
Through the briars of disbelief
Through the woods of lethargy
Through a groaning dark so deep
I thought I died
In the fountain I did cool our feet
Under red and rainless skies
Singing ragged lullabies
Through the grief all advertised
In neon lights
Baby - your wish is my wish
And I have only this
From now on
Baby - your wish is my wish
Keep on running to the door
I heard Beauty crying in her sleep
So I bent for one more kiss
And her tears will turn and twist
We make bliss to end all bliss
And all time
Baby - your wish is my wish
And I have only this
From now on
Baby - your wish is my wish
Keep on running to the door
Running to the door
Keep on running to the door
I heard Beauty crying in her sleep
Through the briars of disbelief
Through the woods of lethargy
Through a groaning dark so deep
I thought I died
Under red and rainless skies
Singing ragged lullabies
Through the grief all advertised
In neon lights
And I have only this
From now on
Baby - your wish is my wish
Keep on running to the door
So I bent for one more kiss
And her tears will turn and twist
We make bliss to end all bliss
And all time
And I have only this
From now on
Keep on running to the door
Running to the door
Keep on running to the door

Isn't it interesting how we can percieve what we will too?
Sarah's poetry is blissful. Her references to beauty, and so on. I believe she speaks of her own soul. Her own struggle to advance in her music. But who am I. Just an avid listener......and a tear-ful wonderer.

I first heard Sarah perform this song December 2004. She introduced it with something close to "while i was in the woods I had certain needs that needed to be met. And you're all thinking what kind of needs is she talking about? pantyhose?" I always thought this song was about Person A being in love with Person B, but Person B can't stay with Person A because person B has an obligation. Person A is consoling person B saying "its okay, I'll be here for you. We've been through hell together and I want whatever will make you happy" ...this is my wedding song so, i suppose this is my own applied meanning
I think this song is about a mother with child. This mother however was not prepared to be pregnant and is struggling with the idea.
In my mindstorm I did carry you Through the briars of disbelief Through the woods of lethargy Through a groaning dark so deep I thought I died
I think this is the beginning of the pregnancy. Her child is only a thought
In the fountain I did cool our feet Under red and rainless skies Singing ragged lullabies Through the grief all advertised In neon lights
The red and rainless skies could be her womb and most mums sing to their children in there.
Baby - your wish is my wish And I have only this From now on Baby - your wish is my wish Keep on running to the door
When the child is born the mum is doing EVERYTHING for baby. some times mom's needs and baby's needs cross over
I heard Beauty crying in her sleep So I bent for one more kiss And her tears will turn and twist We make bliss to end all bliss And all time
Now the child is born and Mom is growing to love her. Here the Baby is having a nightmare and mom soothes her.
Baby - your wish is my wish And I have only this From now on
Baby - your wish is my wish Keep on running to the door Running to the door Keep on running to the door
I heard Beauty crying in her sleep
Maybe that last line is the Mom.. shrug
