the little girl is hollis lane, melora's daughter. this song is always eerily special to me when i hear it, as november has so many connotations for me.

I like the little girl voice, it reminds me of a little Victorian ghost girl in a white dress walking down a corridor, looking around and occasionally skipping, perhaps clutching a cloth doll...yes...
I like the version where the little girl is singing...is that someone's daughter...I heard it was but im not sure. It is the cutest thing I have ever heard.

What I think this song is about is how, like a deluge the winter holidays come down upon people, starting with November. And while everyone makes a big deal out of it all, many of them tend to forget where the importance really lies. We go about our lives all throughout the earlier months, then suddenly were oppressed with years of traditions and expectations . It can be extremely exhausting and what's worse about it all is, as Melora says were all just aliens. Were all celebrating our existence on a land that isn't even ours.
But an adult is the one who chose to record it. Of course it's symbolic.
