Sandpaper and Silk Lyrics

Wait 'til after dark
we'll try to make a mark
one that stays until we're done

And we'll pretend again
lets try not to forget where we are
and who we're with
Who we will find.

Miles can cut this tie we've made
the sharp side of the blade
As these words play out
they'll try and drag you down
you feel like one of them

Who we will find

Miles can cut this tie we've made
the sharp side of the blade
Make sure that you can keep it
make sure you keep it in your heart [2x]

Miles can cut this tie we've made
the sharp side of the blade
Miles can cut this tie we've made
the sharp side of the blade
Make sure that you can keep it
make sure you keep it in your heart

Miles can cut this tie we've made
the sharp side of the blade (in your heart)

Well, i love this song! but its really hard to figure out what the freak it means. I thought it was about a guy and girl who are together but they dont live near eachother "Miles can cut this tie we've made" and they are missing eachother loads and yea. Sure. Whatever. lol.

I have no clue. Miles can cut this tie we've made. Well from that I would think of a long distance relationship. There are miles between them and its pulling them apart.

Thats all I got. Anyone else??

I have a special edition of the album, which included "an inside look at the silence in black and white" told by J.T. Woodruff. and he says:

"Someone described our music as a great blend of sandpaper and silk. I thought that was kind of neat. This song is about the Dayton music scene. The second we signed to VIctory people hated us in Dayton, Ohio. Certain bands felt as if we didn't earn it. We have been playing music in Dayton for 4 years or so. I think we have graduated Dayton scene college with a four year degree. "Let's trynot to forget where we are and who we're with." This particularly means remeber where you are and how you ogt to where you are. So many peoples forget this when they have a taste of sucess. We are happy to go back to play Dayton when we can. The people who support us come to the show, and the people who don't sit at home and bitch about the ticket prices."

So yeah, hopes this helps everyone.
