Don't turn your back on me
Conceal and protect me
I need you to stop me from reeling around
The time's gonna come when
You no longer need me
But stay by my side til the sun has gone down

When I am an old man and live by the sea
Will all your thoughts fly to me?

As much as I want to
I can't hold onto you
When will you return to your old home again
May love lie around you
Good fortune surround you
You know where to turn to when you need a friend

When I am an old man and live by the sea
Will all your thoughts fly to me
When I'm far away from the places we've grown
Will all your love bring me home?

When I am an old man and live by the sea
Will all your thoughts fly to me?
When I'm far away from the places we've known
Will all your love bring me home?
Bring me home

General CommentI think it's about a father singing to his son/daughter, asking for some care when he get old... The child needs him now but there will be a time he/she will grow up: "The time's gonna come when/You no longer need me/But stay by my side til the sun has gone down" and all he wants is protection when he become an old man. I mean the meaning it's obvious just look: "As much as I want to
I can't hold onto you/When will you return to your old home again/May love lie around you/Good fortune surround you/You know where to turn to when you need a friend" He telling him/her that as much as he wants to he can't keep him/her at home, and is going to miss him/her. And finally just like a father is always going to be there as a friend for his child who now is a man/woman.

General CommentI'm not totally sure, but I think its about a guy, who girlfriend maybe doesn't want to be with him anymore. He still wants to be her friend, and will really miss her. That's just my thought.

General CommentI think this is about a man kind of talking to a girl but thinking what he's saying instead of actually saying it. he's talking about if they will always be together no matter how far or old they are. When I am an old man and live by the sea
Will all your thoughts fly to me
When I'm far away from the places we've known
Will all your love bring me home

will they be together again. is their love still strong enough to bring them back together? lovely song and has a romantic touch to it.

General CommentI think the song is about a boy whose mother passed away.
    - "Don't turn your back on me. Conceal and protect me."
She musn't leave, but protect him
-"When I am an old man, and live by the sea, will all your thoughts fly to me..."
He wants her to contact him, when he is old and grey
-"As much as I want you, I can't hold on to you."
    He can't go with her,
    - "When will you return to your old home again?"
but still wants her to return home.
-"Will all your love bring me home..."
He wants to be unified with her in a time

    Etcetera... :)
