Dancing crazed and forgotten;
six halls
one heart.
One million ways to hold onto silhouttes. Ignored by tattered lips, broken calls.
It's like you've run out on yourself.
Split between death,
good fortune and a staggering breath.
A broken key for a faulty lock.
A fevered pray for a dying flock.
Like consonants without vowels.
Jagged tongue wag, incessant stones passed- other hours merely forgotten.
It is with a dream and a heart that we proceed.
Not a thought to leave not another lifetime we need.
And though we may look behind;
this visions' seductive glance,
we will pick up our pride and loosen our impenetrable stance.

    "Not a thought to leave not another lifetime we need." should be: Not a thought to leave behind not another lifetime we need.

    THERE'S A VERY IMPORTANT PART MISSING:

    "Fucked up at the very end." "No, it's good, dude."

    This one is about moving on in life. To paraphrase the last few lines: All you need is a dream and a heart, you don't need to run away and find another life. It's ok to look into the past in order to learn some lessons, but you gotta let go of your pride and just keep moving on.

    i agree w/ ^. also i think its about our inevitable futility in life, our inability to be complete, its almost as if he states all that and says ignore it, fuck it if you have a dream follow it and move on anyway

    This song makes me want to do something amazing. I love how perfectly and easily Hot Cross can convey whatever they're trying to convey.

    I was about to post that, ExcessiveClaptrap. That part is so great, it caps off the emotion of the song and the whole EP. There is nothing wrong with this EP, at all.

    My interpretation is that words can break hearts and that sometimes there is nothing you can do to take back the words you've said. And in the end, sometimes what you can't spend a lifetime of dwelling on what happened and just move on.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
