Worn Me Down Lyrics

Gone, she's gone
How do you feel about it?
That's what I thought,
you're real torn up about it
And I wish you the best,
but I could do without it
and I will because you've worn me down
Oh, I will because you've worn me down

Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
but you can't stop thinking about her
no, you can't stop thinking about her

And you're wrong, you're wrong
I'm not overreacting
Something is off
Why don't we ever believe ourselves?
and I, oh I, I feel that word for you
and I will, because you've worn me down
oh I will, because you've worn me down

Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please
but you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her

She's so pretty, she's so damn right
but I'm so tired of thinking about her again tonight

worn me down like a road
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told
Worn me down to my knees
I did everything to please you,
Worn me down like a road
I did everything you told me to do
but you can't stop thinking about her
no, you can't stop thinking about her

(everything you told me to do)

No, you can't stop thinking about her
No, you can't stop thinking about her

(everything you told me to do)

No, you can't stop thinking about her

This song is about a girl who is dating a guy who doesn't actually like her... he's allways thinking or speaking of another girl... that's why she says "but you can't stop thinking about her"

By the way, I love this song.

I heard Rachel do this song live & she dedicated it to her to her ex that didn't know he was about to be her ex yet. The song to me crystalized all the things about the relationship I was in at the time and needed to get out of.

I would say that this song is about a girl who wants to be with this boy but can't because he is in love with another girl. She says that she did everything for him but it just wasn't enough. He just couldn't forget this other girl.

waiting for someone, doing what you can to make them happy, then realizing that they're still thinking of their ex-lover.

it's the worse feeling...

This describes a break up that I had with one of my ex-boyfriends. I did everything he told me to do in order to get him back, yet he still went for the other girl. I wish I knew of this song right after we broke up, and not a year later.

I don't really think this song is talking about an ex-lover, maybe just another person....but I think it definatley has to do with trying to win somebody back, & you try everything, but you fail. & while you're trying and changing for that one person, their wearing you down and telling you how you're doing it for nothing and what not.

Oh, the things we'll do for love...

I agree with you people. She does everyuthing he wants her to, trys her hardest to make him happily, but he can't get another girl out of his head. He keeps mentioning the other girl, and the singer is saying taht he's worn her down, she's tired of this: her doing everything and being everything for him, and him still not loving her.

I also just saw Racheal perform this piece live and she mentioned that it was about a beautiful German girl from her past, and that she is happy to be able to sing about it because it shows that she is not bitter. I thought it was about an ex girlfriend. I guess her German friend is also is also a muscian performing in Germany? She was stunning in concert. Ok so her voice is a combo of Tori Amos, Melissa Ethridge, and Sarah Mcglaughlin. Of course she has her own style.

Ok... I heard this song then imediately thought of the girl that I like. She likes this guy who likes this girl. Love squares anyone. I told her she should perform this song. She told me she did. I just knew she would have been singing this to him.

I agree with what everyone has said so far.

It's about a girl who's with a guy who's still obsessed about his ex. She'll gladly let him go and go back to the ex because she figures if he's not happy with her anyway, then there's really no point in going on with their relationship.

for me this is about going to the ends of the earth to please someone you can truly never have because they (still) love either another person or an ex. you kill yourself comparing the other person to yourself, sacerfice your worth in order to please them but it ll never be enough
