^true. Simple lyrics indeed. The things that's great about this song is how she rendered the songs's meaning - repetition for emphasis. Bottomline of the song, each one of us wants to be loved by a certain someone. The song plainly and simply made that thought available in the medium of music. Brilliant.
I remember doing a dance to this piece, and first I loved the song, and then got sick of it, and I just skimmed passed it on my ipod one night while I was going to bed and fell back in love with Rachael Yamagata's voice, and downloaded more songs! And every's pretty much got the same thought about this song, how she just wants to be in love. and I too also love how I can relate to these songs, espically this one, everyone in this world wants to be loved
I like this song so much , for me it's about a girl who has an affair with a man, possibly married or something like that... "if i could take you away.." , "...but all i ever really wanted was a little piece of you..."
Maybe her friends are the ones who are telling her to be reasonable, that he can't be with her, but she doesn't want to listen , she wants to be his love.

Lyrics aren't that great but it's the way that she sings it that makes this the damn jam. Everybody's talking but they should just shut their gobs.
