I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Lyrics
<Cash>
Hear that lonesome whippoorwill?
He sounds too blue to fly.
The midnight train is whining low:
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
<Cave>
I've never seen a night so long,
When time goes crawling by.
The moon just went behind a cloud,
To hide its face and cry.
<Cash>
Did you ever see a Robin weep,
When leaves begin to die?
That means he's lost his will to live.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
[Instrumental break]
<Both>
The silence of a falling star,
Lights up a purple sky.
And as I wonder where you are,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

this song is a cover of an old hank williams song, with nick cave as well . much better than the orignal i must say.
the simplicity and straitforwardness make me cry every time, i just find myself nodding every time he says im so lonesome i could cry. and i always thought that in the last verse he says im so lonesome i could die.
I love JC very much, but I like Hank's version a lot.
