this song is about two parts - being confused about relationships, especially a too good to be true relationship, and 2nd part, needing to get out of the city, and needing to escape everything to find yourself again. even if the girl means everything to you, he needs to go away for a while to figure things out.
i relate so much to this one. one of the best in my opinion.
sometimes a person doesn't have to be bad, or mess up... sometimes they just don't get it. don't get the things you do, like, feel, think... they just don't get you.
i've been in a lot of situations like that and jumped a lot of fences getting away from good people because they didn't undderstand me.
it happens and when it does sometimes you just want to get away, leave town, see something unfamiliar that makes sense...
to me, that's what what happened here

then other times, when you do get away, you have to touch something familiar...
hence the early phone call...
there are times when all we want to do is get away... only to find that we were supposed to be where we were to begin with all along... if that makes any sense...
even if it doesn't, that's what it means to me...
this is probably one of my top 5 favorite thinking songs. good to drive to when alone... never listen to it when i'm around people...
