in my humble opinion i think this song has deep meanings, but i could be wrong.
i think that this song is about maybe getting all you wanted but not really enjoying it.

i think this could point at maybe the things about him that if he had them maybe he'd be happy, like maybe he's not the right person to have this so if he had the right things, then maybe things would work.

i agree with the majority of the comments here.
this song makes me so sad though. it kind of worries me about my own life and future though. i really don't want to wake up one day with basically everything that i THOUGHT i wanted and say, "man...is this it for me? how disappointing." i've felt like that in the past, and it's definitely not a pleasant feeling.
to me, this song is simply about reaching a point in your life or achieving something that you imagined to be "continuous happiness" and realizing that it's not everythign you thought it was. ( "you know, i always imagined it something more" "this is not what i hoped for") instead of happiness there's feelings of pain and emptiness ("Is there something wrong with the heat? Why am I so cold? And my heart feels sick And it hurts when I speak")
