I don't think the lyrics are about her trying to convince herself she's happy being single. I see it as more as a response to people who question her for her single status, or who insist she give up being single before she wants to or is ready to, and telling them to back off, haha, 'cause "That's how I wanna be". :D

i've been in love with this song since its first release in the uk and this was the song that made me buy her album, despite the extra cost from amazon uk. I am single, and when i heard the song, my head was going "AWMIGOD, YES!!!!" the lyrics are exactly the things I have always wanted to tell people. Especially this annoying chick i knew who think that there must be something wrong with me because i dont have a fricking boyfriend. I cant even pick a favorite line off this song. It took about a week before everyone knew this as my anthem. This song also reminds me of summer 2004.

I'm a singleton and few wks ago i was moaning about it but i stuck this song on the other night ( hadn't listen to it for a while ) and made me quite proud to be single, ok i'm 16, life ahead of mee blah blah blah but ya know its still nice to have a love. =]
