This is about them getting over jon lee killing him self (RIP Jon) and how they found comfort in music pretty obvious really

Yeah same here. Music makes this better somehow. So i guess the song is all about when your feeling down, just listen to music. But not only that...because sound isnt just music, its talking too. So i think it might also be referring to talking about your problems, and not keeping them all bottled up

how did jon lee die?

Jon Lee committed suicide by hanging himself in his house in Miami if I'm correct. A tragedy to say the least :( RIP

I don't this track is specifically about him though, I reckon its just an 'ode to music' as such, and the comfort you can draw from it through any hardships in life. Music is always there for you, and I have to say I agree totally with this track as music is definately always there for me when I need it!

The entire album was about that. It might just be me, but the album seems to go through the stages of grief you go through. With denial (Just the Way I'm feeling?) determination not to let this stop you (Come Back around) Sadness, tears, searching for comfort, trying to forget, anger, and acceptance. They're all stages which I went through, and although I could be wrong, it gives that impression to me.

I think the album wasn't about Jon Lee commiting suicide, more like the album was written with him in mind, the mood and style of the album may have been based around his death, not the actual lyrics.

Anyway, Comfort In Sound explains exactly the effect, the 'comfort' one can have in what they listen to.

Most of newer Feeder lyrics have Jon in Grants approach. The lyrics can be related to many situations but to me the 'Comfort in sound' can be musically surrounding yourself and finding the comfort in matching the music to your moods or the sound being the words from a Loved one or person encouraging you, comforting you in an anxious, or difficult time in your life.

Also there's evidence when ever we meet someone there is a fact of fate, be it good or bad, it may open a door leaving behind a dark past or (i use Jon as an example) Grant meeting Jon, 'shake new hands', it opened a door to music but fate entered...Jon left but the comfort in sound can be found and with that fate new songs and sounds were born.

Its a nice song as something can be taken from each verse and built on so much.

My favourite feeder song. The whole album's so comforting and soothing. To come out after such a traumatic event and write this instead of slipping into depression is increadible. I was going to write an explanation of the song but i simply can't think of a better way of saying it than these lyrics. Amazing.
