Tiny Little Fractures Lyrics
Is there a place I can go
Is there a light to get me there
If I've forgotten what to say
It's because all words are dust
If this is really what you think
How come you won't look me in the eye
All this crying in your sleep
As I lie awake beside
Is there a T-shirt I can wear
Coz I am soaking look at me
What do you mean I don't love you
I am standing here, aren't I
Maybe you thought of it first
Maybe I get all the praise
Is there a place I can go
Is there a light to get me there
Is there a light to get me there
If I've forgotten what to say
It's because all words are dust
If this is really what you think
How come you won't look me in the eye
All this crying in your sleep
As I lie awake beside
Coz I am soaking look at me
What do you mean I don't love you
I am standing here, aren't I
Maybe you thought of it first
Maybe I get all the praise
Is there a place I can go
Is there a light to get me there

Maybe a bit of desperation? [Is there a place I can go Is there a light to get me there] & maybe like a relationship what's had an argument?; "If this is really what you think How come you won't look me in the eye" "All this crying in your sleep As I lie awake beside" & "What do you mean I don't love you I am standing here, aren't I"
Don't really understand the t-shirt bit though... =/
it reminds me of a scene in a movie (no particular movie), where he's just turned up and he's soaking wet from the rain and she's angry at him even though he's trying to apologise
seems like another simple tense relationship song, about a couple seeming about to break up.
I LOVE this song, definitely one of my favourites on the album. It's alot like Spitting Games because it's so upbeat.
I wouldn't call Spitting Games upbeat, but I agree with simsfreg: it could be straight out of a movie.
I picture this guy running through the rain - they're from NI after all and it rains here pretty much all the time - in some city somewhere, through little laneways, leaping over garden fences and all that kind of romantic crap. He turns up on her doorstep to apologise, he doesn't have an explanation and neither does she. But like a few of their other songs, he doesn't want the relationship to end and chances are, it won't.
Optimistic and sort of desperate at the same time. I don't know anyone who doesn't like this song. Except the goths in my class but they don't like anything.
The lyrics of this song just seem so honest and true, the guy doing all he can and not knowing what else to do to prove something to his partner - "what do you mean I don't love you, I'm standing here arn't I?". The bit about the soaking T-shirt gets to me, too, Gary in a soaking T-shirt......very nice!
i think this song is really a dazed and confused song. the lyrics, the melody. all of it fits so well together yet something about it makes you feel like you're in a move montage, spinning around way too fast to recognize anything that's going on outside. so many questions, maybe? it sounds like he's at a loss of words. too confused to actually think.
and the whole soakign shirt thing, i actually picture him up on stage, sweating so bad that his shirt is soaking. like a panic attack kind of sweat.
that's what this song reminds me of. a panic attack. so happy, so sad, so up and down and all over and just confused.
panic attack. that's it.
I had a dream that I just realized was inspired by this. Oh wow.
reminds me of feeling vulnerable and insecure, crying inconsolably about stupid things for stupid reasons into the shoulder of a man who tries to console but feels confused and inadequate, wanting to make it better but not knowing how.
i know... the t-shirt bit is so REAL, i love it when they write about feelings then suddenly mention something soild and material, like a wall or a t-shirt, its so sharp
