Damn Good Times Lyrics
I'm not much of a natural dancer
But I know a girl who's a natural dancer
You could call her a jumpin' bean
She's got ants in her pants and she's gonna dance
I know a girl who's a jumpin' bean
She's got keys and a token when she hits the scene
Yeah I know a girl who's got a record machine
She acts like David Lee Roth when he turned 21
I know a girl who's a natural dancer
With a cape and a hat she's a natural dancer
She coughs and she laughs and she makes a lot of calls
And all of the people applaud
As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store (damn good times)
All of the people applaud (damn good times)
Can she do the karaoke? Yes she can, but she won't
'Cause she's highly qualified and she's not a joke
When it comes to opera, she is ossified
So all of you operas better step aside
When my friend got amnesia
She can't remember the show she saw
Like the one with the guy with amnesia
Who got off from the island on a helicopter
I know a girl who's a natural dancer
With a cape and a hat she's a natural dancer
She coughs and she laughs and she makes a lot of calls
And all of the people applaud
As she leaves the store
As she leaves the store (damn good times)

I think the song is about a woman having a loud conversation on a cell phone while in a store. She's talking about someone she knows who is a natural dancer, she laughs, she coughs, she makes a lot of calls, and she is so annoying that when she leaves the people in the store actually applaud. Damn good times.
Damn catchy. All people must buy this album!!!!
agree'd!
This is definitely their best song. It's about a girl who dances at a casino.
What did David Lee Roth do when he turned 21?
David Lee Roth's typical Tuesday would be considered a "revolution" by many foreign governments... Imagine his 21st birthday party.

He probably went crazy. I don't know what he did. I know he did release a solo album, and one of the tracks was named Damn Good Times, so its a reference to that.
This song is brilliant.
You will have damn good times listening to it.
I'm in AP English in 94% for an A, Fairfax County, VA - and I certainly didn't think as in depth as chadd vz! He has a great imagination paired with great reasoning. I mean . .just look at his comment, and you'll see it supports all of the lyrics flawlessly.
Story I've heard is that it's about a girl "with keys and a token" and plays Dance Dance Revolution. She's a natural and even maintains a conversation on a cell phone while she does it. She chooses not to play the Karaoke game, because either she considers singing a "real" ability and dancing is just for fun, or she's anti-song for some reason, or she's just on her cell phone. Regardless she's inflexible on the issue of playing the karaoke game.
Then she leaves, and everyone applauds.
But I hate DDR so I kind of hope this isn't it. But it's always made too much sense for me not to think it's correct.
to me its more stalker like a young person who is overconfident of him self but likes a girl that is not and follows her, saveing her at a point but then have to explain
