Rejazz Lyrics
Thought I'd cry for you forever
But I couldn't so I didn't
People's children die and they don't even cry forever Thought I'd see your face in my mind for all time
But I don't even remember what your ears looked like
And the clock still strikes midnight and noon
And the sun still rises and so does the moon
Birds still migrate south and people move on
Even though I'm no longer in your arms
Thought the mountain would crumble
And the rivers would bend
But I thought all wrong and the world did not end
Guess the maps will just have to stay the same for a while Didn't even need therapy to rehabilitate my smile
Rehabilitate my smile
Thought I'd cry for you forever
But I couldn't so I didn't
But I couldn't so I didn't
People's children die and they don't even cry forever Thought I'd see your face in my mind for all time
But I don't even remember what your ears looked like
And the sun still rises and so does the moon
Birds still migrate south and people move on
Even though I'm no longer in your arms
Thought the mountain would crumble
And the rivers would bend
But I thought all wrong and the world did not end
Guess the maps will just have to stay the same for a while Didn't even need therapy to rehabilitate my smile
Rehabilitate my smile
But I couldn't so I didn't

The song is pretty straightforward... but just to give my opinion: it's about when you end a relationship and it seems like it's the end of the world. You think you will never love again, or even laugh again. Everything is tragic and taken out of proportion, until you realize you can move on, and that's the way things go... Nothing last forever and the end of a relationship is not the end of the world. People deal with more difficult things ("people's children die") and they get over it, so we shouldn't be so dramatic about it. It's about that time when you suddenly remember that person, and remember that years ago you were crying because of them and thought that would never bounce back... and now you can't even remember what his ears looked like :P
oh. my. god. first song i ever heard by her, changed my musical life. i'm in love with this woman and all her songs, such a breath of fresh air.
this is my favorite spektor song whenever i find myself crushed by someone i think of this because its like the light at the end of the tunnel you know that sadness just cant last forever people cope my other favorite song, ode to divorce, sort of clashes with this one that may be why i love them both so much two very different ways to look at getting over someone but both equally beautiful songs
i really like this song i love the simplicity of it just her voice and a double bass
this is about a guy breaking up with a girl..
She fits so well into any genre she chooses to use.
yep. It's a wonderful song!
This song is really straightforward, like, someone is in love with someone, but once they break up, it's not as much of an effect afterall. It's a really good post breakup song. It really wants you to know that things will be better.
This song is about a breakup. I like the way Regina says "People's children die and they don't even cry forever", its like saying life does go on after a relationship ends, and there is always worse things happening to other people. Its like a girl saying that she is strong after a breakup even though she had her heart broken. Also has a very jazzy/blues feel to it. Love this song so much- Regina is a genius!
I'm renaming her Regenius :)
