So Far So Good Lyrics
I feel a little bit left of center
but then again, we've all been there before
everytime I see a lost cause coming
it's nothing less, nothing more
everytime I get lost in paradise
I find a way to screw it up somehow
I know its not the way its supposed to be
but it'll do for now
When you're right, you're right
everything else in my life just me be wrong, you're wrong
All the time
So Far So Good
Cause no one knows im drinkin
I wish I could
Show you the toll its takin
Sometimes I live like theres no tomorrow
So far so good
I better find a way to cross my fingers
half the luck will get me twice as far
I'm sick and tired of coming up for air
it shouldnt ever be this hard
every little bit will help, I wonder
if its enough or did I cross the line?
the kitchen counter is a bad reminder
of a better time
<-- Chorus -->
Repeat til End
but then again, we've all been there before
everytime I see a lost cause coming
it's nothing less, nothing more
everytime I get lost in paradise
I find a way to screw it up somehow
I know its not the way its supposed to be
but it'll do for now
everything else in my life just me be wrong, you're wrong
All the time
Cause no one knows im drinkin
I wish I could
Show you the toll its takin
Sometimes I live like theres no tomorrow
So far so good
half the luck will get me twice as far
I'm sick and tired of coming up for air
it shouldnt ever be this hard
every little bit will help, I wonder
if its enough or did I cross the line?
the kitchen counter is a bad reminder
of a better time

Awesome song...
This song is about a guy who drinks too much. He hides his problem from other people, but wishes that he didn't have to.
okay...first of all as far as I'm concerned this song is definately not about drinking. well, I didn't get that out of it anyway. and second, the lyrics are screwed up. the chorus is...
So far so good 'cause no one knows I'm faking I wish I could show you the toll it's taking Sometimes I live as if there's no tomorrow So far so good
I think this song is about how when everything is going good for him, probably with a girl, things get messed up...("everytime I get lost in paradise I find a way to screw it up somehow ") and nobody can really see how much what's going wrong is affecting him. maybe the whole thinking it was about drinking thing came from the mess up in the lyrics and the line about the kitchen counter...but I think that line is reffering to maybe stuff he did with a girl on the kitchen counter and it reminds him of it...or I could be totally wrong...it's known to happen.. :)
Ian Thornley was the lead singer/guitarist for Big Wreck before they broke up. Like many of Big Wreck's songs, this one is again about that girl that got away.
The kitchen counter line refers to him remembering the good times with the girl... making love in all the fun places that he can now not help but see everywhere.
true .. i wonder if he ever dropped her ass on the stove by accident. ouch. anyway you're right. it's pretty straightforward.
who the hell could get 'noone knows i'm drinkin', that doesnt even make sence.....i always thought it was 'noone knows im thinking'...but, meh. great song. yay for thorley.
it really is a awesome song, governer!

I ... positively can not believe no one has said it so far: this song is about addiction, pure and simple. Drug addiction, if you so fancy, but addiction in general.
"So far, so good, 'cause no one knows I'm taking."
Addicts are generally ashamed to admit they are addicted, and are too ashamed to tell other people. He feels good that his problem hasn't become out of control. As an addict, I can not tell you how much these lyrics resonate with me. Especially this bit: "When you're right, you're right everything else in my life just me be wrong, you're wrong All the time"
You know what you're doing is wrong, but at the moment it feels so right that everything in the world MUST be wrong. And afterward ... soon after, the sobering realization of how WRONG this all is, and then depression sets in, and then you feel yourself falling. Falling out of the high, and falling, worse yet, into reality. You are shit and all you've done is shit. Nothing has ever gone right.
So far so good though, you're not at 0.0 yet.
