Undertaker Lyrics

Oh, love is so good
When you're treated like you should be
The sky goes on forever in a symphony of song

And how the water can flow
Like it's streaming outta fountains
And all you got to do is find a sword and a stone

And how it takes all the night
Like birds of paradise
Like way down in Pollyana where the race runs wild

Oh, but if you're gonna leave
Better call the undertaker
Take me under, undertaker
Take me home

Oh, just place me in a box
And fasten all the locks
And with a one, two
Throw me over the Bayside bridge

'Cause love is so good
When you're treated like you should be
The sea goes on forever in a symphony of song

Oh, but if you're gonna leave
Better call the undertaker
Take me under, undertaker
Take me home

Yeah, if you're gonna leave
Better call the undertaker
Take me under, undertaker
Take me home

Such a great song. As Sid Vicious said, "I don't want to live this life if I can't live it for you." This song might be kind of like that, rather be dead than not having love.

Oh just place me in a box and fasten all the locks and with a one, two throw me over the Bayside bridge.

that part is just song-writing genius....

Such a beautiful song. It reminds me of a quote: "Love cannot be beautiful without an excess. Either one loves too much, or he doesn't love enough."

But I certainly wouldn't want a man that extreme loving me! "Life with you is a fairy tale come true, Pollyanna and sunshine, but if you go away I'd rather die"??? That'd be scary! :-)

i agree, it is saying that nothing is worth it without that one person by your side, that everything is right as long as that person is there with you.

Agreed, someone that obsessive would be bad, but I dont see this song that way. I see it more as a romeo/juliet situation, (not comparing the two because thier not related) but only in the sense that if she should die, he minus well too because he'd rather be with her than not, and the character has nothing left to live for without her; hense "take me home".

I agree with what's been said already.

What a gorgeous song.

I have that kind of love and it's great. not obsessive, just simple agreeance that life just would be worthless if the person wasn't there. It doesn't mean that you see that person all the time or that they can't exist if they don't have you with them every moment of the day. It's knowing that they're there which makes life wonderful.
