I agree with rocksy there. It's not about losing someone he loved, instead, he tried so hard to forget her forever but he couldn't. Even, he wished that he could start all over again when he sang, "dying to die just to come back, so we can meet again." I think at first he acted immature by denying his real feeling but then he realized he still had feelings for her..

To me, this song is about losing someone you love, or loved. Dying, Dying to die just to come back so we can meet again i love this line. Its my favorite. I am madly in love with this guy, and he is leaving the state soon, and this is my silent prayer. I'm dyin' to live without him. But i don't want to. I just love this song!

I added this song because it wasn't on the list and, to me, this is one of their best songs. I absolutely love it. Someone very close to me died and this is everything I feel and more now that he's gone. It is an amazing song...everything is so wonderfuly said...and his voice...wow. That's all I can say about that!

I agree with Breena on how this song is about heartbreak and separation. Even now as I'm nursing the heart pains of a recent breakup, I find that I really need a distraction to keep thoughts of her coming back into my mind. The whole time feeling a desire to want to die because of the pain that I'm experiencing, and maybe even, dying so that I can come back to life and start anew with her. And I totally agree that I feel a strange, even irrational desire and hope that as long as I'm alive there may still be a chance for us to get back together again.

I haven't listened to a FFF song in probably a year or so but I just heard they have a new album out now or soon? I saw their new video and I realized that FFF may have been my favorite band all along without realizing it. I love every single song of theirs. Every one has a strong meaning and emotion to it. I love Five for Fighting!

wow what can i say this song makes me feel like i'm not the only one who feels like i do. I lost someone who ment a lot to me and it was not until i heard this song after he died that all the emotions i was feeling were some what put straight. "It's the same old story of love and glory that broke before it bent" this reminds me so much of him he inspired so many and he was so young when he died we didn't even have time to say goodbye he just died, broke.

This song so well explains the first emotion when losing someone. that first line makes me shiver cause it reminds me of the first time i woke up and had not one thing i was thinking about but him and just started crying. To write a song like this and all of john's others takes a gift a very unique gift. John is such an amazing man. And one thing the person i lost name was john too.

I love this song because it applies to both losing someone in death or a breakup. He's dying to forget the pain. "Dying to reach a conclusion so the world can see" he wants to move on but its a "strange emotion but there is hope as long as there is breath" its that contradiciton: you want to forget and move on, but then part of you wants another chance and doesn't want to forget.

I think its about a break up and hes trying to forget about her cuz her memory hurts and than hes regretting not saying things and stuff and if he could mett her again from the strt things might have turned out different now that he knows what he couldve done to help
