Just saw these guys play at Glastonbury. What a set! Absolutely amazing, didnt stop jumping from start to finish! Just before they played this they said it was about the Laura Bush, first lady in the 'ol US of A. Lyrics dont make any more sense, maybe u have to be american.. But who cares!
Amyliscious, that woman "dead as fuck" is Laura Palmer from the ever so fabulous TV show TWIN PEAKS, at least that's what the band said at the Brighton Dome Concert:
"This next song is a story. Composed about a lady. Who existed over the rainbow. Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. Two doors down from 10 Downing Street. And she was very beautiful. Very beautiful! But I seriously have no clue about the connection of the character Laura Palmer to the lyrics of "Laura". Maybe the Scissor Sisters wanted to create a mystery, just like the show was. I don't know...
