Everyday you're on my mind
Pain is feeling passing time
But if she found out about us she would die
And if I have to live without you so would I
So I thirst for the water
I find myself wanting now

So I'm running away to you
I cannot escape you
To feel your touch
The faith you prove
I'm running away to you

Hearts are never made of stone
Pain will cut you to the bone
But I know that holding you is all so wrong
So tonight's the last we'll ever be alone
So I thirst for the water
I find myself wanting now

So I'm running away to you
I cannot escape you
To feel your touch
The faith you prove
I'm running away to you

Turn around, fill my eyes with you
All senses to commit
Till everything's all right

Yet I don't think its about giving up that "relationship", the opposite it's what it seems to happen.. When saying running away to you, not like running away from you, what if it's about making things right, in all fairness, honesty to his partner: "things aren't working,...I'm not here anymore, nor my heart or mind", something like that.

Perhaps this is how I see it due to wanting something alike to happen or that I would have wanted in the past.

Think it's funny how we all want things to work between people who actually care about each other, and forget that sometimes that's not enough.

How can anyone be with someone when they're obviously caught in a bigger, much more intense and emotional relationship with someone else? I won't ever understand why something so simple to solve gets so f*** complicated.

But what the hell if things were that simple we wouldn't have great songs to debate.

Anymess, in my naïve perception, maybe, the situation here is not giving up to those emotions and the person who motivates them, but ending the relationship que su corazón no asimila.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
