The Adventures of Allan Gordon Lyrics

I've been waiting here for seven years,

And sometimes i'd rather almost die, than go on another night of this life...

And I give up, and it goes on and on and on,

And I'd die to keep my head from keeping time...

But it's not easy being locked inside yourself!!

Would you know my name if I came to your home!?

Would you let me in? Would you make me chase you!?

Is it in my head? Am I going crazy!?

Am I gonna live!? Are you gonna save me!?

The song is about Allan Gordon, a Scotish man who was trapped on an iceberg for seven years after his whaling ship wrecked in 1757. The ship sank, resurfaced, and froze in place onto a ledge of the iceberg. Being the sole survivor of the whole ordeal, Gordon lived in his icey imprisonment for seven years, surviving on fish and the freshwater trapped in the iceberg. Also, Gordon claimed to have tamed an orphaned polar bear (no joke) who he trianed to hunt fish for him. Gordon was finally rescued 1764.
