Kaledrina Lyrics

an arm is off
an eye is missing
a face is cracked
a mouth is rusting
a dress is ripped
a hand is stuck
this mechanism
seems to be broken

but pull the string
still it can talk

"my name is kaledrina,
and i love you very much"

when i woke up
my arm was off
my eye was missing
my face was cracked
my mouth was rusting
my dress was ripped
a hand was stuck
this mechanism
seems to be broken

but pull the string
still i can talk

"my name is kaledrina,
and i love you very much....."

The rare and illusive Kalederina! Heard rarely, even by those lucky enough to experince the Dolls live! ;)

It's a beautiful song. I've heard it, and thought it was live, and the recording on Automatic-Joy.come has an extreamly long "chatting" introduction, it's beautiful.

But I don't think it really has anything at all to do with internet dating.. It's about feeling like a toy with someone. "Pull the string still I can talk" It's seems more to be about how worthless someone makes her feel, like she's nothing more than a trained plaything.

^^

i think this song could be about a battered wife. she's bruised and broken, but she still loves her abusive husband. well, that's another interpretation of it.

maybe this song is about "waking up" grown-up and feel like a puppet...because you "have to" do (or say) the things , others expect from you...but inside you're broken.

sakoboi - i love that idea. perfect. see also 'fistful of love' by Antony and the Johnsons. thats on similar lines, and similarly amazing. or maybe she doesnt really love him (the abusive husband) - the song sounds kind of numb, its as though the 'i love you very much' is an automatic response, something she says but doesnt really mean. she just says it, but its empty. she does it to try and stop him...? hence, "pull the string" - its not real, but she keeps saying it, broken record style. thats all she can say, like a speaking dolls with one phrase on its reel. well, i know what i mean, even if im not putting it very eloquently...

I think it's about seeign someone in a situation that is bad but thinking "Thank God that's not me". Then suddenly it's YOU in that situation. The websites automaticjoy.com, by the way

Oops! Sorry about all the typos!

"a hand is stuck this mechanism seems to be broken"

The hand could eb used to stop something, but now it is over-used and broken, un-able to stop (abuse?)

I promise I'll stop talking now.
