Thinking Over Lyrics

I've been searching for a reason
And I'm running out of time
I can feel that it's the season
It's time to make up my mind

And I can't really tell you
What I'm gonna do
There are so many thoughts in my head
There are two roads to walk down
And one road to choose
So I'm thinking over the things that you've said
Thinking over the things

Thinking over
Thinking over
Thinking over
The things that you've said
I'm thinking over
Thinking over
Thinking over
The things

Am I ready for forever?
Oh, God, show me a sign
'Cause if we're to be together
Then it's got to be divine

And I can't really tell you
What I'm gonna do
There are so many thoughts in my head
There are two roads to walk down
And one road to choose
So I'm thinking over the things that you've said
I'm thinking over the things

Thinking over
Thinking over
Thinking over
The things that you've said
I'm thinking over
Thinking over
Thinking over
The things

He wants to marry me
Carry me far away
He wants to love me for life
He wants to be with me
Every morning I awake
He wants to hold me though the night

Father, which way should I go?
I cannot clearly see
Oh, I love him so
But only You know if he's the one for me

Thinking over
The things that you've said
I'm thinking over
Thinking over
Only You know if he's the one for me

I cant really tell you
What I'm gonna do
There are so many thoughts in my head
There are two roads to walk down
And one road to choose
I'm thinking over
The things that you've said

I think this song is about, a woman who's forced to choose whether or not she wants to be with someone, she knows she's meant to be with. She's thinking about the things that he's said, and she's deciding whether she wants to be with him or not.

Love this song! It turned me on to Dana Glover. Obviously it is about a woman who is trying to decide whether or not to marry someone she obviously loves. She seems to want to get married, too, as "it's the season," which can mean she at an age where she's expected to be married; she has come to a point in her life where she wants to be married; or it's a time when everyone is getting married. But I will say that my favorite thing about this song, putting aside that it's just a wonderful song, is that she isn't relying on herself to make this choice. She is relying on God. She knows that she loves this man, but she knows she cannot see everything. She takes marriage and love seriously. She doesn't want to rush into something. Relying on her heart would be dangerous. This is very wise, especially when in love, for you "cannot clearly see" through your love.

This song at first seemed to mean what you all are saying pretty much. But my perspecive has changed. If she is Christian, (I'm not saying she is, I have no idea) or if her songs are in any way Christian... I could mean something that closely relates to my life.

Well.. anyhow, I believe she's actually thinking over what God has said to her and everything over her whole life. She wants to know if this is the one that will evenly match her lifestyle, the one she's meant to be with divinly and equally: "

"'Cause if we're to be together Then it's got to be divine."

She keeps using her signifigant other as in 3rd person, which furthermore solidifies that this is a conversation with God:

"He wants to marry me Carry me far away He wants to love me for life He wants to be with me Every morning I awake He wants to hold me though the night ..

Only you know if he's the one for me

I'm thinking over the things that You've said"

I'm in a tough situation right now with my relationship, figuring out if God really approves of my decision. I really love this person, but I don't know if it's the right decision for the rest of my life. He really loves me, and is in love with me, passionately, the whole nine yards, similar to Dana's song. I find myself just asking for a sign or anything. I'm getting further into college, and it's time to start making plans for the future (it's the season lol), but I'm still looking for an answer to what's the right choice. In my situation, every word fits. Every single word without exclusion whatsoever.

Well, that's my perspective. I don't know if that's what she was saying for sure, but I'll do some more research. Later :)

I first heard "Thinking Over" when I saw the trailer for "Tuck Everlasting". I downloaded it from Limewire, and have loved it with a passion ever since. It's about having to make a difficult choice.

I love this song:) I think it's about a woman who wants to marry a man she knows she's in love with, but he's not the most sensible choice. In other words, her family or friends might expect her to marry someone else.

Anyway, I think you can apply it to other situations too, which is what makes it so amazing:)
