My Confession Lyrics

I have been blind, unwilling
To see the true love you’re giving
I have ignored every blessing
I’m on my knees confessing

That I feel myself surrender
Each time I see your face
I am staggered by your beauty
Your unassuming grace
And I feel my heart is turning
Falling into place
I can’t hide
Now hear my confession

I have been wrong about you
I thought I was strong without you
For so long nothing could move me
For so long nothing could change me

Now I feel myself surrender
Each time I see your face
I am captured by your beauty
Your unassuming grace
And I feel my heart is turning
Falling into place
I can’t hide it
Now hear my confession

You are the air that I breathe
You’re the ground beneath my feet
When did I stop believing?

‘Cause I feel myself surrender
Each time I see your face
I am staggered by your beauty
Your unassuming grace
And I feel my heart is falling into place
I can’t hide
Now hear my confession

I can’t hide
Now hear my confession
Hear my confession

I'd have to disagree with goddess5 on this one. I'm pretty sure that this song is talking about God. There are so many verses here that only God can provide: "Your unassuming grace," "I feel myself surrender," "When did I stop believing," "Hear my confession." If you listen to this song, imagine him kneeling and confessing to God... when you listen to the song and think of it in that way, it makes more sense.

Yes, I agree with all 3 of you. I believe it is mostly God-oriented, but music is really best for applying to how you feel about it specifically. So depending on how I feel, I may be singing that song in my head to someone I should have loved, or I could be singing it to God at the end of one of my rebellious stages. :)

I think the song is about Mary, Christ's mother who is known for her unassuming grace and her beauty. The person in this song is on his knees confessing to a higher entity - St. Mary!

Oh, forgot to mention that the person in this song says his heart is turning and falling into place. Hmmm... Definitely this song is about Mary!

first off josh groban has an amazing vioce! this song is one of my favorites. it's talking about when you make a mistake and lose someone, and then realize what you had, and realize you really wish you could be with them again. So you just have to tell them how you feel, and you don't really know how they are goign to react to it, but they are just consuming your toughts. And they seem so perfect to you that you just have to tell them no matter what.

I think goddess5 and KielEWyote are right. This is one of those songs that can go either way. I love this song. My favorite part is where it says, "You are the air that I breathe, you're the ground beneath my feet. When did I stop believing?" The melody right there is awesome!

I dont pick up that this song is about the Christian "God". But perhaps that is why music is so wonderful. Everyone interprets it differently.

I personally saw this as a love confession. He ignored her, despite the fact he knew she was in love with him. Then he finally realizes he's in love with her too and has to figure out how to confess to her and get her back.

I only see it this way because it matches the novel I'm working on.

Cheers!
