The lyrics are kind of obscure, but the way I read it is that it's about a man who is leaving his home (Italy?) and going to America, and he is separated from his love. Nice imagery connecting the ocean and relationships... It also seems like perhaps the person he loves does not return the love he shows the way he wishes, which is something most of us can probably relate to.

This is by far the coolest song on the whole CD
i dont know what this song means...so people...what does it mean? but i LOVE this song! i want to use it for like a duet or trio.
Josh Groban is the reason I began learning Italian. The lyrics are absolutely beautiful. Obviously it's about leaving someone..going to a faraway place..thinking of that person. I especially love how at the end it goes, "All this will have you and to you everything will seem normal." So maybe he loves that person and they don't love him back. "It's for the life that isnt' there..And for the love you don't know."

i must admit, i normally dont like songs i dont understand. but there is such a strong emotional pull with this song, it is entrancing. he sings like an angel.
