Burbot's Revenge Lyrics
There is a net under the ice
With a thousand knots tied
And unchecked amount of slime
Hanging down
There is a burbot on the net
Into the mesh he has put his head
Now struggling for his life
Entangling more and more
And there is a fisherman on the ice
Drilling a hole with sweat and blood
Trying to draw the net above
The icy surface
But even though how hard he pulls
The net won't budge
Under the ice the net has stuck
With thousand knots into the ground
With frustration and despair in his mind he decides
To fight to the bitter end with all his strength
But with his latest wrench
The net will tear to shreds
Burbot's revenge
Burbot's revenge
With frustration and despair in his mind he decides
To fight to the bitter end with all his strength
But with his latest wrench
The net will tear to shreds
Burbot's revenge

It's a song about a fish...
Kinda shows the futility of life, and humankind's struggle with nature.
how so? If you have another theory, let's hear it.
Will sgtpepper1935 ever bother ?
Well true it is about fish, but not too sure if there is any grand story about struggle against nature. But as Kalmah has had some folk tradition influensing their lyrics, i just could say one thing.
Animals used to be seen as more than just animals before the age of education kicked in. Some animals were dead humans. And some had different spirits in them. Don't know of burbot, if there are some folk tradition beliefs of that animal, but there are many exsamples. So it maeby is about some folklore about burbot. It is quite unique fish so it most likely has had some beliefs about it.
Such "lore" can be quite localized too. I don't remember anything about burbots.
Fisher man pulls net up, its broken and that must be work of damn burbot.
You know, that way. Or then it just is simply about fish.
But i put my bet on the folklore side.
It IS about a fish, fishing. These guys love to hunt and fish.
