I personally think that this song is about protecting someone you love, or someone you care about.

"In a violent world, where deception's free Things I can't control, taking over me Did they try to take my identity? So what the hell have they done to me?" could mean that someone, or something was trying to corrupt another person, or make someone do something against their will.

"I will take your thoughts away And I'll ignite your fear today Well I can take you far away With my mind With my mind" might mean that someone might want to protect someone at all costs, and the protector wants the person they are protecting to forget about something in the past hence ""I will take your thoughts away, And I'll ignite your fear today"

"This life for me changes every day I will stand up tall, I won't be betrayed If you play with fire, I'll control the flame I'll do anything to make you believe" means that the protector has a lifestyle that they cant foresee, or they know something big is about to happen in their life, which would support the theory that he would want to protect someone.

Also, "I will stand up tall, I won't be betrayed, If you play with fire, I'll control the flame, I'll do anything to make you believe" could mean that the person they are protecting did something wrong in the past, which would explain "If you play with fire, ill control the flame". "I will stand up tall, I won't be betrayed", could mean that the protector has been betrayed by someone close to him/her, and he learned from the previous betrayal.

"I'll do anything to make you believe" could mean that the person thats getting protected doesn't trust people, probably due to an event in their past.

Overall, i think the song is about a company or a person forced someone to do something to someone they care about, and he regrets it. Naturally, when the person apologizes, the person he harmed doesn't believe him/her, and the person who harmed him wants forgiveness, and swears to protect that person, no matter what.

But thats just my take on this song.

Me too, I first heard on the Psi: Ops disk, wtached the vodeo with it of course. The video is really good to. But really this song just makes me feel alive, and comfortable. It's about losing you're identity and renewing yourself.

To me, theres no big hidden meaning in this song. This song is about the game it was written for. Its basically written from the eyes of the main character in the game and talks about what the character in the game goes through.

Well the song is pretty straight forward. I agree with Rez on the part of there is no hidden meaning to the song cuz its all laid out pretty clearly. But this song has plenty of parts that relate to everyone, and thats where i agree with Aphotica
