This song is a dedication to “noise”. Noise can be anything in our natural environment. It’s the same concept that the musical “Stomp” speaks of: music can become beautiful from anything in nature. Heavy music to the normal person is nothing but an annoyance… but to those who really listen to it understand how amazing and beautiful songs can become no matter how “noisy” they seem. The first section of the song I don’t actually sing any lyrics… I just scream (noise) random bullshit… that influenced the last line (you can’t follow me, you sing along to nothing). The song title is actually a random message our old guitarist nick wrote in my phone… and being a made up word I thought it would fit nicely with the idea of noise. -tommy
Pretty much what everyone said about the song being about the concept of noise is correct. But really the whole song, I believe goes deeper then that.

This whole part is explaining how even through the nonsense and noise they are still capable of writing something emotional and stands out above everything else. As you can see from previous comments, people mostly talk about this melodic part because of it standing out. The beauty is that without that part in the song, what would you have made you remember this piece as a whole? The people who enjoy BTBAM's music(the dogs) are the only ones who pick up on this beautiful part, because they can get by "the sounds that make one cringe."

BTBAM's lyrics are not particularly great, but I can always appreciate the message of their songs. This is exactly what I want my friends to understand about metal and so-called "noise", that it's not just random nonsense, it's got direction and it can be beautiful. The instrumental break in the middle of this song gave me goosebumps first time I heard it.
I have no fucking idea what this song means, but I must say that it has the most beautiful guitar break I have ever heard right in the middle. Its cool when a math metal guitarist can actually play something with melody. Rock on.
I read somewhere that this song stands for noise/nonsense music that attracts a lot of fans, and the beauty of it all. Most importantly the fact that people don't give it a chance because it might hurt their head or something. It takes a lot of time and talent to make music like this, trust me. People should just appreciate it and stop judging so harshly.

"btbam=awesome", Tommy isn't saying anything in the first minute, it is just random gibberish that he's screaming. It goes along with the theme of the song, how noise can be beautiful.
