I lost my visual
'Cause all you fucks are in my way
So drop her off this route
Take em to some far place
Watch them feed

Seal the signs of the borders
We are here to bend
Penetrate the outlines
Lightness of color

They say the world is struggling
But we are stuck upside down

Imaginary reality
Suffer from make believe
I'll chance the fate
Take em to some far place
Watch them feed

They say the world is struggling
But we are stuck upside down

No purpose, no scorn
No sorrow will be wasted on you
No purpose, no scorn
No sorrow will be wasted on you

They say the world is struggling
But we are stuck upside down

No purpose, no scorn
No sorrow will be wasted on you
No purpose, no scorn
No sorrow will be wasted on you

The drummer is tenacious in this song...

Personally, I like it. I haven't really gotten a meaning yet out of it all though - deep lyrics, even though on the surface they're simple

The first verse is about being blinded to something because of people messing with you. The next verse is about letting the truth shine through. The third one is about how everyone are struggling with their petty problems, but the singer himself is in real trouble compared to everybody else. The fourth verse is about looking throught the lies, the illusions, and taking a risk. the last verse is a fuck you and goodbye to all those fucks who obscure life and the truth.

overall, this song is about the truth being hidden.

Here are the actual lyrics. I'm sick of seeing this crappy interpretation everywhere.

I lost my visual 'Cause all you fucks are in my way So drop her off this route Bigots and vampires, watch them feed

Seal the sides of the borders We are here to bend Penetrate the outlines A mess of color

They say the world is turning But we are stuck upside down

Imaginary reality Suffer from make-believe Oh, self-conceit Bigots and vampires, watch them feed

They say the world is struggling But we are stuck upside down

No purpose, No scorn, No sorrow will be wasted on you.

I think it means watch people who act like vampires do what they do, like act greedy and take all they can and never give anything to anyone.

The "Bigots and vampires" I think refers to the big-shots that have everything done for them, and don't do it themselves. And vampires similarly feed off others for power, instead of necessarily working for it.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

its amazing how far music can come.. 24 years after it released and its one of the most heartfelt songs ive heard

Word Alive, The
This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.
