My Silent Undoing Lyrics
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
protruding hips
and skull, and spine
ribcage cuts a clear outline
oh, oh
all roped up and pinching in
distorted and disfiguring
oh, oh
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
no photographs around the back
emaciated, iron flat
oh, oh
dehydrated cutting bones
today i'm over 7 stone
oh, oh
my wasp in a jar
my wasp in a jar
my wasp in a jar
twinkle little star
my wasp in a jar.
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
protruding hips
and skull, and spine
ribcage cuts a clear outline
oh, oh
all roped up and pinching in
distorted and disfiguring
oh, oh
my silent undoing
my silent undoing
my wasp in a jar
no photographs around the back
emaciated, iron flat
oh, oh
dehydrated cutting bones
today i'm over 7 stone
oh, oh
my wasp in a jar
my wasp in a jar
my wasp in a jar
twinkle little star
my wasp in a jar.

I think this song is about anorexia. Or a form of eating disorder like that ("protruding hips and skull, and spine ribcage cuts a clear outline") "my wasp in a jar" is how it is something you have control over. You can decide whether you let the wasp go , or whether you leave it in the jar to die. You can decide and control what you eat.
like it, the whole ed thing ... but its so literal, like of course its about anorexia, but i wish it was like you need to think about it or something like that...i love the wasp in a jar, thats the best
This song scares the fuck out of me :(
I fucking adore this song! It's so litteral the wasp in the jar part is pure genious
As someone who's struggled with eating disorders, I can say with great meaning that Katie Jane has truly captured the warped mindset of an anorexic. Once while I was listening to this song in class, someone asked me if the song ever "got more intense" (she was obviously expecting for some screaming to happen...) That made me think; that's the beauty of this song: The lyrics are so overwhelmingly intense that the mellow music actually eases you into a sort of trance... it leaves you in an amost drugged state, but it opens your eyes to the twisted obsessions that can run through your mind.
the song is intense enough, the part at the end where she goes 'dehydrated cutting bones today i'm over 7 stone' sends chills down my spine for some reason.
Okay so I love this song :D Sure is does leave you in this weird trance but it's an amazing song hands down. Anyways, I was curious about the wasp in a jar thing, so I did some looking up and it turns out a wasp in a jar is a trap for wasps in summer! You put sweets in a jar and the wasps get caught! Isn't that interesting :D
