Sea Ghost Lyrics
I dove into that freezing sea,
With a parasite attached to me,
I'd hoped the salt below,
Would divorce what was wed above
But league after league,
It yet remained,
For the fleshy vessel I,
Kept it sustained
Buh-up-up-up-ba-ba-ba
So we froze, a while
Surrounded by one big tear,
Which only reminded me,
Of a former home
But we weren't welcome,
The sea made that clear,
By filling us with saline,
And sending us blue, blue, blue, back into...
...the atmosphere
You choked as you surfaced,
Tangled, in seaweed,
But what remained,
Of the driving intent,
But let me to tract,
Such watery depths
Many things have betrayed me,
Between there and here,
And my memory is so, so, so, fucking unclear
Who was I with, what time was it?
And where-ere-ere-ere-ere-ere
Who was I with?
What time was it?
And where-ere-ere-ere-ere-ere
Did you go?
With a parasite attached to me,
I'd hoped the salt below,
Would divorce what was wed above
It yet remained,
For the fleshy vessel I,
Kept it sustained
Surrounded by one big tear,
Which only reminded me,
Of a former home
The sea made that clear,
By filling us with saline,
And sending us blue, blue, blue, back into...
...the atmosphere
Tangled, in seaweed,
But what remained,
Of the driving intent,
But let me to tract,
Such watery depths
Between there and here,
And my memory is so, so, so, fucking unclear
And where-ere-ere-ere-ere-ere
Who was I with?
What time was it?
And where-ere-ere-ere-ere-ere
Did you go?

Any song that begins with a flute solo then seamelessly goes on to rock the fuck out deserves mucho respect.
Maybe it's just me, but I interpret as this song as kind of a hidden stab at the music industry and how hard it is to make a living at it. The sea is like the music industry and when it sends them "back into the atmostphere" it's sort of a hint at their break-up. Of course other parts of the song aren't really like that..but I think the song goes in and out of conciousness, describing a whole mess of things. Which is really what life is, if you think about it.
So. R.I.P. Unicorns and all that.
such a good sing
such a good sing
loooooooove this song. so gosh darn catchy.
God, I know. The lyrics don't even make sense, but it's so freakin catchy.
i think this song has to do with the singer going thru a break-up. in the beginning, the relationship he had with the other person was what he felt like in the beginning of the song: parasite and host. but as the song develops (like the relationship) he begins to like the thought of having his other around. by the time he is cleansed of her/him, and then at the end he is wondering where they went, which shows he really wanted them around after all.
if the sea is the music industry, then nicky diamonds must be referring to uhm, his partner in music who's name yet escapes me, as his "parasite"
i dont know what it means but i love it :)
I always thought of the line after "I'd hoped the salt below" was "would divorce what was wed above." That makes more sense, I think. It's possible of course that I am wrong.
Great song regardless; I love the ending especially.
