So Sad Lyrics

Now the winter has come
To eclipse out the sun
That has lighted my love for sometime
And a cold wind now blows
Not much tenderness flows
From the heart of someone feeling so tired
And he feels so alone
With no love of his own
So sad, so bad, so sad, so bad

While his memory raced
With much speed and great haste
Through the problems of being there
In his heart at arm's length
Held within its great strength
To ward off such a great despair
But he feels so alone
With no love of his own
So sad, so bad, so sad, so bad

Take the dawn of the day
And give it away
To someone who can fill the part
Of the dream we once held
Now it's got to be shelved
It's too late to make a new start
And he feels so alone
With no love of his own
So sad, so bad, so sad, so bad

Cover art for So Sad lyrics by George Harrison

George wrote this song as he was feeling hopeless over his relationship failing with Patti boyd. Their relationship was mainly failing over George strongly following his spiritual journey. Without Patti's interest, George had been meditating and giving all his attention to his spiritual awakening alone, and this left Patti feeling desperate without George's attention. This caused her to go for Eric Clapton who gave her the attention she humanly wanted. During the time their relationship began drifting apart, George knew that Patti wasn't completely in love with him anymore, causing him to write this song.

Now the winter has come To eclipse out the sun That has lighted my love for sometime And a cold wind now blows

with most lines from this song being about sadness and the cold, it became know as the contrast of the positive song 'here comes the sun.' which George had written before.

Not much tenderness flows From the heart of someone feeling so tired And he feels so alone With no love of his own So sad, so bad, so sad, so bad

At the time George wrote this song, he had Temporarily given up his Hare Krishna spiritual journey and had been too consumed by his Human emotion of sadness to care. But again this was temporary and he continued his spiritual journey again later on. In the future, George claims that he still liked this song, but it's just, "So sad."
