The New In Bloom Lyrics

in slaying myself I will start now...
I am run through by the use of my own hands knife
to kill the life I’ve held too tight
dress me in maroon
the new is in bloom
this knife the life I have in you runs me through
into the new in bloom
how are you so strong to hold me in your arms
while I sink this into your back
is it that so we could be
your hands were nailed to me
your hands were nailed to me
your hands were nailed to me

"your hands were nailed to me" well i take it like punkrockchick217 its about Jesus Christ's sacrifice for us. and how he needs to life life through Jesus rather than through him self

it sounds to me like he is seeking the joys of the world when he needs to be seeking Jesus. hence the "to kill the life I've held too tight" and about Jesus's sacrifice to us "your hands were nailed to me"

I always thought it was about the new life we have in Christ. Through Christ, we kill our old life and begin again. I guess it's saying that we were the cross he was nailed to...and he holds onto us so tight, even thought we constantly stab him in the back and fall into our old ways... in slaying ourselves we will start now... the new in bloom.
