Satellite Of Love Lyrics
In this world as we know it
Sorrows come and go
Now we see the human race
Has put it’s footprints on the moon’s face
Satellite’s gone up to the sky
But it’s not as nice as looking in your eyes
Woh, take it for a little while
No, I could watch it on tv, yeah
Satellite of love, oh, satellite of love
Satellite of love, satellite of
Satellite’s gone up to the sky
And it’s going to drive me out of my mind
Woh, take it for a little while
No, I can watch it on tv, yeah
Satellite of love, satellite of love
Satellite of love, satellite of
I’ve been told, baby, you’ve been bold
To winkin’, blinkin’ and nod
Monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday
To winkin’, blinkin’ and nod
Satellite of love, satellite of love
Satellite of love, satellite of
Satellite of love
Satellite of love, it’s just a little bit of
A satellite of love
Sorrows come and go
Now we see the human race
Has put it’s footprints on the moon’s face
But it’s not as nice as looking in your eyes
No, I could watch it on tv, yeah
Satellite of love, satellite of
And it’s going to drive me out of my mind
No, I can watch it on tv, yeah
Satellite of love, satellite of
To winkin’, blinkin’ and nod
Monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday
To winkin’, blinkin’ and nod
Satellite of love, satellite of
Satellite of love, it’s just a little bit of
A satellite of love

Anyone else, the first time they heard it, think it was about Mystery Science Theater 3000?
this is the lyrics to the pop version. the other version thats on the peel slowly and see box set is so much better. so intense and jealous~
I love how VU puts these little interjections in their songs that seem unrelated and are often slower than the actual song--- e.g. "I've been told baby you've been bold" in here, "heavenly wine and roses" in Sweet Jane, and "here comes two of you" in Beginning to See the Light. They always make the songs stand out for me.
hello, i was wondering if someone could send me this song... i accidently erased all my songs on my ipod, so... it would make me very happy :)
I definitely like the rocking VU version better than the glam ballad on his David Bowie-produced Transformer album (fitting given Bowie’s outer space fixations). I’ve read some interesting interpretations of the song and Lou Reed describes it as the “worst kind of jealousy”. But I read this song - right or wrong - as "Watching TV can’t fill the void of love in absentia." (http://www.kitchensnark.com/2010/entertainment/rock-snob-sommelier-velvet-underground/). Now maybe that absent love is messing around with Winkin', Blinkin' or Nod...but TV is a sucky replacement no matter what the reason...
