The Wind Beneath My Wings (Bette Midler cover) Lyrics

Arctica
Oh, oh, oh, oh -
It must have been cold there in my shadow,
to never have sunlight on your face.
You were content to let me shine, that's your way.
You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,
while you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name for so long.
A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and everything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,
but I've got it all here in my heart.
I want you to know I known the truth, of course I know it.
I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?
You're everything I wish I could be.
I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?
You're everything, everything I wish I could be.
Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,
for you are the wind beneath my wings,
'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.
You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.
Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.
Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,
so high I almost touch the sky.
Thank you, thank you,
thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings

They did the song justice, Bet Middler's version was good, but it didn't rock like Sonata Arctica's does. :D

Yeah, I like the dead friend theory.

These lyrics seem fine, but at leats in the one I'm listening to here, the lyrics seem to go:

"Only a face without a name, I Never once heard you complain"

though that may just be me. Anyone? Anyway, I don't think (to me) the song is necessarily about somebody that's passed away but more likely someone close to the person, be it a partner or relative of some sort. Though I'm more inclined to think of it as the former, as I tend to do that.

to me this song is about a someone thanking someone else for giving them the strenght to go on, for being "the wind beneath their wings"

I was the one with all the glory While you were the one with all the strength Only a face without a name I never once heard you complain.

someone that always helps you out and doesn't ask for anything in return, just the fact that that person helps you out makes that person feel satisfied, alawys behind the scenes making you who you are

that's what this song means to me anyways

Some of the most beautiful lyrics I've heard. I think this version of the song is very good.

That Lyrics are so wrong

in the part where says "A beautiful face without a name for so long. A beautiful smile to hide the pain." is "Only a face without a name I never once heard you complain." and in the chorus where says "for you are the wind beneath my wings" is "Cause you are the wind beneath my wings"

etc there are many errors i think

and i think this could be (in my opinion) a song for the public i mean for the people who support the band.

the lyrics are wrong, as PrinceDhampir stated.. pretty wrong, this is a cover, maybe they copy-pasted them from the original?..

my advise to you.. fix em.

btw, i think this is dedicated for a dead friend, as many others do.
