Enemy Of The Sun Lyrics

Torn of this land's disgrace
Too hungry to contain a future
The sun bathes my wounds with a veil of rage
It's rays dyed with the blood of our disrespect

Suffering for the wisdom long forgotten
The sound of bloodletting echoes on the wind
The suicide of drought for a faith destroyed
We starve with pride and glass in our throats

Harvest their return
Those who drive away the sun

The masks lay fallen, sheltered in the dust
Tearing our flesh amongst wolves
See how they run as we laugh
In lunar horizons there is understanding

Harvest their return
Carry my soul to the sun

Cover art for Enemy Of The Sun lyrics by Neurosis

I think it's about the environment. As I see it, this song presents the image of what the world will be like after it's been polluted to bits. 'The sun bathes my wounds with a veil of rage' - this is describing the effects of global warming, I think. And of course it mentions the 'disrespect' shown to the environment by mankind. '...with pride and glass in our throats... they run as we laugh.' These two segments suggest that this future mankind is still defiant, denying the truth of climate change until the very last moment. Dunno about the 'Harvest their return' parts though, their meaning eludes me.
