Note To Self Lyrics
two roads split off from here, and my life goes running in opposite directions,
exaggerating the barrier between who i am and who i want to be
i wanted to be that breath of fresh air, when everything smelled so insincere,
but its taste still lingers in my mouth, deceit has ways of sticking around,
when im ready to disappear, vacation seems far from here
note to self: i miss you terribly, this is what we call a tragedy, come back to me
i can feel my mind wandering again, into where i dont know, and will i ever get home?
time starts moving, faster than i can, im getting sick of this scene, i need to break the routine
two roads split off from here, and my life goes running in opposite directions,
exaggerating the barrier between who i am and who i want to be
which part of me is lost? i feel so close, but im still so far
exaggerating the barrier between who i am and who i want to be
but its taste still lingers in my mouth, deceit has ways of sticking around,
when im ready to disappear, vacation seems far from here
time starts moving, faster than i can, im getting sick of this scene, i need to break the routine
exaggerating the barrier between who i am and who i want to be

This song is about being confused through adolescence (hence the title of the album).
If you read the lyrics they obviously show struggle between childhood and adulthood.
"note to self: i miss you terribly, this is what we call a tragedy, come back to me"
Might mean that he misses the simple time when things weren't so complicated, because as you grow into adulthood situations become more complex. You have to find a job, get education, and other things like that.
"which part of me is lost? I feel so close but I'm still so far"
Once again, confusion with growing up "time starts moving, faster than i can, im getting sick of this scene, i need to break the routine"
Again he is confused in adolescence and it feels like life is moving way too fast and it all kind of hits you at once, you still feel young and yet you're already finishing school and moving out....
this is a new song, kids. don't know exactly how i feel about its meaning to myself yet.. but its a good song.

I think it's about someone who lost himself.

i think this song is about a long distance relationship..and it sounds to me like the last line is "i feel so close but i live so far" i might of heard it wrong though
actually, the lyrics came straight from them. thanks.
In my opinion this song is definately about how he feels that life has changed him into someone who he ins't too happy with / wants to break away from. He wants to return to the way he used to be / feel.
i agree, i think it's about someone losing themself as well, and being so close to discovering who you are, but you fall back into your own confusion
this song talks about a guy thats sick of his like and he wants and needs change fast, and he is going to go ahead and change. i do that all the time i hate doing the samething over and over again.
This song is the catchiest thing I have ever heard.
But sooo good.
