A Voice At The End Of The Line Lyrics

If all I had was just one final call
Would you answer my ring?
Would you hear me at all?

Oh, when I spent my life trying to make someone mine
Now all I want is a voice at the end of the line

I lost my luck in a unlucky bet
Could you clear my name?
Could you cancel my debt?

Oh, when I spent my life trying to make up my mind
Now all I want is a voice at the end of the line

I spent way to much time beside myself
I don't know what I was thinking about
Oh, but deep in my mind I am dialing your number now

You're all wrong, haha! Actually, I think it's about a guy that was in a relationship with woman A. Enter woman B, and man places "an unlucky bet", assuming that she is better for him than woman A. Leaving A for B, to find out that woman B is wrong, he now has no one left since woman A is unwilling to "cancel his debt", and as a result he just yearns for someone, anyone to talk to.

this song is gorgeous...it is about apprehension and waiting too long to take an opportunity with someone, and then wanting a second chance.

It's someone who's waited to be with someone for the longest time, and finally ended up being with that certain person only to lose them. Obviously, desperate to talk or be with someone.

I think that it is about him wanting to be with someone only to discover that they were wrong for him. He has them, but he doesn't think that they hear him or are there for him. He wants them to prove him wrong with this phone call.

i think this is a good song.

all of these ideas sound good. I think part of it, though, with the "all I want is a voice at the end of the line" part, is that he was wanting a relationship (again?) with someone, but they don't want any part of it, and now he's desperate just to have enough of a friendship to talk to each other, even though he wants much more.

"-at the end of the line," could either mean on the phone, or at the end of his life. Listen to it in both senses, they work.

"call" "ring" "dialing your number"

I believe this song is about finding God.
