I think that this song is from the point of view of someone who is ina relationship that just isn't working. As much as they want it to work, they are beinging to lose faith and are "giving up too easy" because they "don't have the strength to fight" at the moment, most likely because they are sick of fighting over the same things to try to save the relationship. they have finally realised theres really nothing more they can do to save it.

My favorite from Cauterizeand my favorite part of this song is the bridge. I think it's about loving someone and right now it's at the end of a relationship.
I think he's kind of numb from the pain now, like he's gone through all the fights they've had so much, and he's basically given up on the relationship. Sure, he still loves her, but he doesn't love what they've become, and he's saying that he wants to forget the relationship and forget her face in order to move on.
"Let's just cut this clean tonight, and maybe I'll cry tomorrow" pretty much tells me the meaning of this song. He wants to cut the relationship clean tonight, and then maybe he'll feel the repercussions of it tomorrow.
Oh how I miss their music. It pretty much sucks that they broke up.
