Reverse Soundtrack Lyrics
So you dance and you shuffle into the eye of the storm
Your eyes all on fire as if you've been here before
And you say it's all nothing, but tell yourself quiety
But I hear you for miles breathing differently
And when it all falls down
You won't just stand there looking at the ground
And holding your breath, holding out
So you drive 'till the water changes from blue to green
And you wait there until the wind knocks you out of your body
You can stay there forever counting the stars
Trying to separate yourself from how things are
But you know you won't get very far until it all falls down
So don't just stand there looking at the ground
And holding your breath, holding out
Your eyes all on fire as if you've been here before
And you say it's all nothing, but tell yourself quiety
But I hear you for miles breathing differently
And when it all falls down
And holding your breath, holding out
And you wait there until the wind knocks you out of your body
You can stay there forever counting the stars
Trying to separate yourself from how things are
But you know you won't get very far until it all falls down
And holding your breath, holding out

i can't believe no one has commented yet. this is one of something for kate's nicest songs "so you dance and you shuffle into the eye of the storm" it's also got a great chorus. it's an underrated gem
I think this song is about having all of these problems out of your control, yet when you try and escape them or try and make them seem not as big things just magnify. You can try and stand back and analyse it ("separate yourself from how things are") or distract yourself ("counting the stars") or even somehow escape the problem for a while ("shuffle into the eye of the storm"), but it still all falls down.
beautiful song by a one of australia's best
This song is absolutely beautiful. I'm not quite sure what it's about but i thought maybe its about someone experiencing something fot the first time ("eyes all on fire as if you've never been here before") and doesn't know how to react and she tries to deny it and distract herself. The "You wont just stand there, looking at the ground" line tears at me. I dont know what it really means but obviously this person is tring to hold back and hide something.
So pretty.
I love this song so much. One of Something for Kate's best song in my opinion. the tune is beautiful, and the words are beautiful. such depth in it. I can relate to this song a lot... "And you wait there until the wind knocks you out of your body You can stay there forever counting the stars Trying to separate yourself from how things are But you know you won't get very far until it all falls down" I'm quite a dreamer, a lot of the time I just want to stare and count the stars and try and avoid reality sometimes, but "you know you won't get very far, 'til it all falls down". Sometimes I wish the wind could just knock me out of my body! A very relatable song, quite melancholy in my opinion. "so you dance and you shuffle into the eye of the storm" what an incredible line that is. I think that a lot of people would be able to relate to this song.
I recently found out that the line "but I hear you for miles, breathing differently" is actually "but I hear you from my house, breathing differently" - you've got to listen closely, and it's evident when you listen to it carefully, live.
