Obstructed View Lyrics

To all you people standing proud, thinking you know what I’m about, I think you can fuck yourself
(Let's go!)
From your safe distance in this crowd
That’s when your voice becomes so loud
Still trying to keep us down

Walk one mile in shoes I never asked to fill
But still I press on….

I slipped, I fell, then I lost everything
My hope, my faith, in what the future brings
In hopes of pushing past the tie that brings us down
We sing together now.

Give me one reason to look you in the eye
(Just one!)
Tell me exactly why it is that you think you are worth my time

I slipped, I fell, then I lost everything.
My hope, my faith, in what the future brings
In hopes of pushing past the tie that brings us down
We sing together now.

To all the ones that shake my hand
Then talk your shit behind my back
To those who claim they understand
But never heard a word I said
In spite of you, I am still here
This vision has never been more clear
As we sing together now.

(Now that's when!)
I slipped, I fell, then I lost everything
My hope, my faith, in what the future brings
In hopes of pushing past the tie that brings us down
We sing together now.

I think it's just about the group of people who stray from the pack and see obvious flaws in the world we're living in. Instead of just following the person infront of us and being content with how everything is, they take strides to really make a change.

"To all you people standing proud, thinking you know what I’m about, I think you can fuck yourself"

People can sometimes label the people this song represents as just trying to be "trouble makers," or trying too hard to be different. This is to let them all know how serious they are in their stand.

"I slipped, I fell, then I lost everything My hope, my faith, in what the future brings In hopes of pushing past the tie that brings us down We sing together now. "

It's not easy to choose this path, and there will be times when you do fall and lose your faith, but "we sing together now" and keep the crusade going.

That's what I think, anyways.

I think it's about people simply judging others when in reality they have no clue about the person. And these people will act perfectly normal when dealing with the person but will talk about them behind their back. And once theres enough people talking about them behind their back people will group together to bash this person.

i kind of always felt that this song was referring to the band themselves. how people judge them and think they know what they're singing about, but they really don't. but i am probably completely wrong. that's just what i always thought, but what everyone else is saying makes more sense.

i think this song is about judgment. So many people judge people and don't know what there life is like. I also think this could be about a betrayl in a friendship or some sort of people talking about other behind their back ...i dont know .. but the guitar part towards the end is preety sweet

This is one of those songs that Tim writes that lets the victim retake the reigns of power, I know personally listening to this song and get into battle mode. This song, "Halfway There", and "Give it All" are like the perfect trio, they lead right into one another and tell this amazing story of hating your judges and making wrongs, right.

totally dig this song. its kickass, and unlike "Generation Lost" it doesn't sound like it was recorded from the inside of a toilet bowl. and the lyrics are great. its pretty hardcore too.
