Pol's Voice Lyrics
Its name mocks its silence, a worthless beast born to violence ears and whiskers flapping as its yellow flesh comes slapping across the rank filth of this ancient subterranean floor. its hate knows no bounds as its home knows no sounds (but the) FLAPPING-SLAPPING-SPLATTING OF ITS- YELLOW- FLESH. *i am the herald of light* I withdraw a shining glory, a single loving-end of story, the only weakness, a grace like wings, my bow sings. *UNLEASHED* and in the silver light my arrows take flight *UNLEASHED* splits pols voices head and spills its thoughts and dreams *UNLEASHED* in crimson red across this floor *UNLEASHED* a host of yellow bodies comes crashing to my feet NEAT! This song is about Nathan hating the sound of his own voice. The man is a Taoist, he likes using metaphors.
This is spot on. The song is in fact about Nathan hating his voice when he was younger, because he was always made fun of because of it.

Not Nintendo characters.
Not Nintendo characters.
This song is hands down the best on the album. Swirling keyboards with great vocals and oh so dark lyrics makes it amazing.
This song is actually about a tipe of monster that appears in the legend of zelda, it looks like a yellow rabbit... THIS IS PURE NINTENDOCORE
The "splatting of its yellow flesh! I am the herald of light," is hands down the best part of the song.
Jesus Christ.
THE SONG IS NOT ABOUT A NINTENDO CHARACTER. NONE

And I am hereby deeming the term "Nintendocore" obsolete based on the fact that it DOESN'T EVEN REPRESENT ANYTHING THAT EXISTS.
Instead of saying "Nintendocore", just say "Oxymoron".
actually horse the band has been quoted saying that a few of their songs ARE about nintendo characters, not to mention they themselves coined the term "nintendocore". so dean ial, stop posting the same thing under every song and face the facts, this band is all about nintendo, its obvious the first time you listen to any of their songs the influence they took from nintendo sounds, that is, obvious to anyone whos played nintendo even once, which judging by your posts, you havent.
they also mentioned they coined nintendocore as a joke.

So you're telling me that every band that uses analog-modelling keyboards are trying to sound "Nintendo"?
Their songs AREN'T about Nintendo, their songs only REFER to Nintendo characters as a metaphor. Like calling a Asian who acts like a white person a "Banana". Just because the song is named "Banana" doesn't mean the song is about a banana, you dolt. It's about an Asian who acts like a white person.
And just because the band coined the term 'Nintendocore' doesn't mean that it doesn't represent something that is entirely non-existent.
Since you've studied the band so fervently and know so much about what they have coined, you'd know that they created that term to sell people records, banking off of the whole 80's throwback phase that people seem to be eating up like McDonalds these days. I don't call that anything but really great marketing skills on the band's part. Maybe when the whole 'grunge' thing comes back into style, they'll wear nasty sweaters and cite the Pixies as huge inspirations and you can say that their songs are about the Carribean.
I happen to like the band for an entirely seperate reason other than Nintendo. They remind me of Don Cab.
Wrap your head around that one, hussy.
If you want a band whose songs ARE about Nintendo (mainly because they are the actual songs FROM Nintendo games), check out The Advantage.
