Innocent Vigilant Ordinary Lyrics
oh, no, i said
i think about the times
the way you smile at me
and how we always kiss
and how we drank the sun
and killed the night
and fought the sleep and won
and how we left it all unmade
it was only once
now there's more than one
no, there's only one
now there's more than one
you're the only one
you're the only one
you're the only one
it's good to see
that you are doing well
and well enough to be
laughing here with me
'cause what we did
there's no excuse for it
you know i love you so
and i'd love to know what i did
it was only once
i want you to know
that i will always love you
and always be your friend
and never leave you again
the past is past
it's now, so we can go
and we can move ahead
i hope this letter gets read
if just only once
i think about the times
the way you smile at me
and how we always kiss
and killed the night
and fought the sleep and won
and how we left it all unmade
no, there's only one
now there's more than one
you're the only one
you're the only one
you're the only one
that you are doing well
and well enough to be
laughing here with me
there's no excuse for it
you know i love you so
and i'd love to know what i did
that i will always love you
and always be your friend
and never leave you again
it's now, so we can go
and we can move ahead
i hope this letter gets read

i think this song is about a guy who cheated on his girlfriend, then realized the err of his ways and is apologizing for it.
Wow this song is so good. yummy.
this reminds me of the past year i just had. and i have no idea why. maybe it was because all i listened to durning that time was appleseed cast, but it reminds me of good times.
it's the perfect we-just-broke-up-but-i-still-wanna-be-friends song. and it works. ja man.
Beautiful song, Two Conversations is a step-down from previous Appleseed works but by no means a bad album at all. I only have a couple of small nitpicked gripes with it, nothing that detracts too much from the beauty. Firstly, I know they decided to put vocals more up front, and that's fine, but the lyrics...I just don't think Appleseed Cast are the kind of band that really do well by riding on the weight of lyrics. Their musicianship and the way everything blends has always been their greatest talent, and the way they always used simple and sincere lyrics as just a way to make the songs feel complete worked well for them. However, songs like this and others on Two Conversations have too much of that simple sincere lyrical body and when they overdo it, I feel it gets a little redundant. The second gripe is the drumming.....it's good, and I haven't heard Casket Lottery but the new guy is definitely no Cobra. He just doesn't offer the drumming that was unique to this band.
As I said, those were out of sheer nitpicking. Two Conversations is an awesome album that is underappreciated by many AC fans.
great song, ... conversations like that though ... they're no good ... you know that relationship's only going one way and it's not a good way.
The dual guitars and the drums make this song soooo good. It's just so damn catchy. It's so dense and just the right amount of rockin. It's really one of the best appleseed cast songs.

this song is so sad.
I always thought it was 'and it hurts to know what i did - it was only once'
